Jaws Japanese Speed Film Poster
Original Jaws 1975 Japanese Film Poster.
This was the movie that set the mold for the modern summer blockbuster. While during this time frame it was common for other countries to use their own art for film posters, Roger Kastel’s iconic shark design was so impactful that it was used near universally (only a few exceptions in Eastern European).
In fact, the original shark image was first designed for the paperback edition of Peter Benchley’s novel while Kastel was employed with Bantam Books — Universal was so taken with the design that it was used unchanged.
This Japanese speed poster is a great compact and reasonably priced design that really highlights Kastel’s iconic artwork.
